Yes, completely and permanently free. There are no paid tiers, no premium memberships, no download limits, and no hidden charges. We are funded entirely through non-intrusive display advertising, which allows us to offer the service at absolutely no cost to users.
No account, no email address, and no registration of any kind is required. You can use downloader.online anonymously as many times as you like. Just visit the site, paste a link, and download.
No. downloader.online works entirely inside your web browser. It is compatible with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari (desktop and iOS), Samsung Internet, and all other modern browsers. No extension, plugin, or app install is ever required.
We currently support the following platforms:
- Instagram — Reels, Stories, Posts, and Photos
- TikTok — Videos without watermark
- Facebook — Public videos, Watch content, and Reels
- Twitter / X — Video tweets and clips
We are continuously working to add support for more platforms.
Each platform has a slightly different way to copy a video link:
- Instagram: Tap the three dots (⋯) on the post → Copy Link
- TikTok: Tap the Share icon → Copy Link
- Facebook: Tap the three dots on the video → Copy Link
- Twitter/X: Tap the Share icon → Copy link to post
For a detailed step-by-step with screenshots, see our How to Use guide.
We show all quality options that the original platform makes available for a specific video. Common options include 1080p Full HD, 720p HD, 480p Standard, and 360p. We also offer an MP3 audio-only option for every video, which is great for saving music, podcasts, or speeches. The quality available depends on what the video creator originally uploaded.
Yes, for TikTok videos we retrieve the original, watermark-free source file directly from TikTok's servers. For all other platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, the videos are naturally stored without watermarks and we deliver them exactly as uploaded by the creator.
No. We can only process publicly available content. Our servers cannot access private accounts, private posts, or content restricted by the platform to specific viewers. This is both a technical and ethical limitation — we respect both platform policies and user privacy settings.
Typically, the video analysis step (displaying quality options) takes between 3–10 seconds. The actual download speed to your device depends on your internet connection speed and the size of the file. A 60-second HD video might be 20–80 MB in size and would download in 10–60 seconds on a standard broadband connection.
The file is saved to your device's default download location:
- Windows/Mac/Linux: The "Downloads" folder in your file manager
- Android: The "Downloads" folder in your Files app or internal storage
- iPhone (iOS): Files appear in your Files app under "Downloads". You can then move them to Photos using the Save Image / Save Video prompt.
Yes — open multiple browser tabs, paste a different video link in each tab, and initiate the downloads simultaneously. There is no per-user rate limit preventing you from doing multiple downloads in parallel.
Yes, completely safe. Our site runs over secure HTTPS. We never ask for your social media login credentials, we don't install anything on your device, and we don't access your phone's contacts, camera, or storage. All processing happens on our remote servers and the finished file is delivered to your browser via a standard file download prompt.
Temporarily, yes — but only for a short window. When you initiate a download, our servers process and briefly cache your video file so it can be delivered to you quickly. These temporary files are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers within 24 hours. We do not build a library or archive of downloaded content.
No. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties. We use standard server access logs (which record your IP address and request details) purely for security monitoring and service improvement. These logs are not shared with advertisers or data brokers. You can read the full details in our Privacy Policy.
The legality depends on your jurisdiction and intended use. Generally, downloading videos for personal, offline, non-commercial viewing is widely accepted. However, redistribution, republishing, or commercial use of another creator's content without their explicit permission may violate copyright law and the platform's terms of service. We strongly advise users to only download content they own or have explicit permission to use, and to always credit the original creator.
This error appears when the link is not from a supported platform, or the link is malformed. Make sure you are copying the link using the Share > Copy Link feature inside the app — not typing it manually. The link should start with https://www.instagram.com/, https://www.tiktok.com/, https://www.facebook.com/, or https://twitter.com/ / https://x.com/.
For large, high-quality files (like 4K or long HD videos), processing can take 30–90 seconds. If the page appears stuck for more than 2 minutes, try refreshing and attempting again. Also check your internet connection stability. On first use, our server may take a few extra seconds to "wake up" if it hasn't been used recently.
Some high-resolution video formats store video and audio in separate streams. If you downloaded a format that says "(no sound)", try selecting a different format option from the dropdown — look for options without that label, or choose a slightly lower resolution like 720p. These are typically pre-combined (video + audio in one file) and play perfectly.
Unfortunately, no. If the video belongs to a private account, has been set to "Friends only" on Facebook, or has been deleted/taken down by the platform, we cannot access it. Our servers can only process content that is publicly visible without logging in. This is by design.
Check these locations depending on your device:
- Android: Open your "Files" or "My Files" app and look in the "Downloads" folder, or check your Downloads notification in the status bar.
- iPhone: Open the Files app → Browse → On My iPhone → Downloads. The file may appear as a .mp4 file. Long-press it to "Save to Photo Library" if you want it in your Camera Roll.
- Chrome/Android: Tap the three-dot menu → Downloads to see all recent downloads.
Open the Instagram Reel you want, tap the three dots (⋯) → Copy Link. Visit our Instagram Reels Downloader page, paste the link, and select the 1080p HD option for the best quality. The download is delivered without any watermarks or overlays.
Use our dedicated TikTok Downloader page. We retrieve the original clean video source that TikTok makes available, which does not contain the "@username" watermark that the in-app save feature adds. Just paste the public TikTok video link and download.
Absolutely. Our site is fully responsive and works seamlessly on all Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. You can even open the site on mobile, paste a link from the social media app you just had open, and complete your download entirely on mobile without ever switching to a desktop computer.
Yes! After pasting a video link and clicking Download, look in the format dropdown for options labeled MP3 or Best Audio. Select one of these and the download will contain only the audio track extracted as a high-quality MP3 file — perfect for music, podcasts, lectures, and interviews.
